Start with a kitchen that works

A considered layout should respond to the people who use the space. Storage, clearances, lighting and appliance positions belong in the early brief: resolving these together helps avoid decisions that need to be revisited after installation.

• Plan a bespoke kitchen

Choose materials for their purpose

Solid wood, veneer and porcelain offer different qualities. Compare suitability, care requirements, construction and the intended use rather than assuming one material is always the more sustainable choice. The useful question is how the complete specification will perform in your home.

• Compare solid wood and veneer
• Choose a kitchen worktop

Think about maintenance and repair

Before confirming a specification, discuss how surfaces should be cared for and how hinges, runners, doors and other components could be serviced or replaced. Confirm the options for the chosen product and manufacturer; availability differs between systems.

Ask specific questions about sourcing

Manufacturing location depends on the project and chosen finishes. Ask the studio to clarify the proposed supplier, production location, delivery arrangements and any available material documentation. Certifications or environmental performance should be checked for the exact product, not inferred from its appearance.

Claims should follow evidence

This page does not claim that every Nura project is carbon neutral, uses certified timber or achieves a measured emissions reduction. Where an environmental requirement matters to your brief, raise it early so the relevant product information and evidence can be discussed.
